UPDATES FROM THE SOTS TEAM
Written By SOTS

Jasper, let’s come together again for another winter of snowpack learning and backcountry community!

Hosted by Kevin Gedling, Event Coordinator and member of the Jasper National Park Communications team at Parks Canada, and his team of dedicated volunteers, the events will take place at The Jasper Legion aka the Stand Easy for another winter.

Whether you’re looking to learn about the snowpack or the avalanche conditions or even about terrain or decision-making, these community events are a chance to hear from local Jasper avalanche professionals, and meet your local backcountry community. The local team is excited to welcome the community back for four FREE avalanche awareness events this winter season!

Join your community at the Stand Easy / Jasper Legion for three evenings:

> Starting at  7 to 9 PM MST

  • Thursday, November 26th, 2026

  • Thursday, January 21th, 2027

  • Thursday, February 25th 2027
