Event Coordinator / CAA PRO / ACMG Ski Guide
Entrepreneur and Ski Guide, John has been involved in the Mechanized Ski Industry for 40 years. Currently the President for Northern Escape Heli Skiing and having spent a lifetime of risk management in the mountains while taking people out for their “Best Day Ever”, John was excited to get involved with The State of the Snowpack as a natural extension of his love to see people venturing into the mountains with safety at heart. His hope is to see more people out and enjoying the mountains with fewer wrecks and believes the best way to do this is to help provide as much information to all to improve the individual decision making while recreating.

Ryan grew up passing the crowds in the singles line at Silver Star Mountain. Out of high school he ditched the heat of the Okanagan Valley to climb bigger mountains and chase deeper snow throughout British Columbia. His apprenticeship led to working as a professional ski patroller and then certifying as an ACMG ski guide. A Terrace transplant he now works as Director of Guiding Operations at Northern Escape Heli-Skiing where he has the privilege of dreaming about skiing year-round while mastering the art of the excel spreadsheet.

Event Coordinator
Chad Hamilton is the Vice President and Director of Operations at Northern Escape Heli-Skiing, where he helps create unforgettable mountain experiences in B.C.’s backcountry. With 25 years in adventure tourism, he’s built a career around great guest experiences, smooth operations, and a genuine love for the outdoors. Chad also serves as Vice President of the Terrace Tourism Board, supporting the growth of the local tourism scene. He lives in Terrace with his family and spends his free time snowboarding or jet boating on the Skeena River. A lifelong performer, Chad is also a professional DJ with more than 30 years behind the decks—bringing energy and good vibes to events throughout the region.

From being born and raised surrounded by the mountains in Terrace BC, they were always something I found myself looking up at. When I was old enough to pursue
exploring them I did just that. Found a love for being on top of the world. Now being lucky enough to get to snowmobile, hike, snowboard, fly and work in them with some of my best friends and family every weekend makes them a special place.

ACMG Ski Guide
Hans has been working in the avalanche industry since 2010. His work experience spans avalanche forecasting and control for Northwest Avalanche Solutions Limited, avalanche education and guiding. Most recently, Hans has become accredited as an ACMG Ski Guide. A passionate mountain-enthusiast, he can be found out in the mountains skiing or sledding whenever he isn't hanging out with family and friends or working.
