David is a Cumberland-based Professional Geoscientist and Avalanche Professional with over 15 years of experience in avalanche forecasting, geohazard assessment, risk management, and education. Since beginning his avalanche career in 2008, he has worked across British Columbia in the mining, railway, energy, forestry, and ski area sectors, with experience spanning avalanche hazard mapping, risk assessment, operational forecasting, and explosive avalanche control. He currently works as an Avalanche Professional with Dynamic Avalanche Consulting and owns Facet Geoscience Inc., a consulting firm specializing in terrain stability and geohazard assessments.

Beyond his consulting work, David is a longtime Avalanche Skills Training (AST) Level 1 and 2 instructor with Island Alpine Guides and teaches professional avalanche courses for the Canadian Avalanche Association. He previously served on the board of the Vancouver Island Avalanche Centre, including two years as president, and continues to support avalanche education, public safety, and Vancouver Island's backcountry community.
