I have lived in Golden, BC for 14 years now. I was born and raised in flat lands of Sherwood Park, AB. I attended the Mountain Adventure Skills Training Program in Fernie, BC and that is where my love of backcountry started. Since then I have been working in the ski industry for approx. 14 years as a patroller, tailguide and AST instructor, as well I work part time as a paramedic with BC Ambulance. Currently I have my CAA level 2 and my CSGA level 1. I love spending my time playing in the mountains and am looking forward to being part of the state of the snowpack organization.

  • CAA Level 2 / ACMG Mountain Guide

Mark is an IFMGA/ACMG Mountain Guide with nearly two decades in Mountain Safety, specializing in mountain rescue and avalanche control. He has worked for Parks Canada across its iconic mountain parks and currently helps lead the Mountain Safety program in Glacier National Park — Rogers Pass. Mark has written the public avalanche bulletin and taught avalanche awareness and education for many years. In winter he pursues backcountry skiing and ice climbing at a high level and brings firsthand experience from involvement in avalanches and backcountry emergencies. Those experiences inform a nonjudgmental, empathetic approach to mountain rescue. In September 2024 Mark sustained traumatic injuries in a paragliding crash and is now a below‑knee amputee; his recovery and outlook add a unique perspective on accepting and managing risk, human resilience, and lifelong learning.

  • MC HOST / CAA Level 1

Ben has been in Golden for about 20 years now, has worked as a patroller at KHMR for about 17 years and is the President of the BroSis Society. A few years ago Ben switched careers and is now a youth and family support worker here in Golden. Ben loves snowboarding, his cat Mojo and is the proud owner of Golden's newest Hotdog Cart.

  • CAA Level 2

Marty is an Apprentice ACMG Ski Guide and Kicking Horse Ski Patroller. Originally from Utah, competitive freeride skiing drew him to the bigger mountains of BC. After numerous injuries and close-calls, he transitioned his focus to the avalanche industry, working at Kicking Horse, taking CAA courses and teaching ASTs. This season Marty is splitting his work skiing between Chatter Creek and Kicking Horse while still chasing lines in the local ranges. Whether digging in the snowpack or hunting for untouched turns, Marty’s happiest when he’s out in the mountains - learning, exploring, and sharing that stoke with others.

  • CAA Level 2 / ACMG Ski Guide
