Lives In The
Backcountry
Each winter our snowpack tells a story, a narrative that plays out over time. Every time the wind blows, every time the snow flies, every time the weather brings something new, that’s a different chapter within the story of our winter. This is the story of our snowpack.
And we’re bringing it to you!

GET INVOLVED
Support the growth and expansion of State of the Snowpack by getting involved as an event coordinator, presenter, or sponsor/partner.
When avalanche professionals speak from the heart directly to their communities, we build trust—and trust keeps people alive.
State of the Snowpack is a grassroots, BC-based non-profit that bridges the gap between avalanche professionals and the public through free, inclusive, community-rooted events. Hosted in mountain towns nationwide, these gatherings offer real-time snowpack insights, honest storytelling, and space for reflection. SOTS connects with a passionate and growing audience in an expanding network of backcountry communities across Canada.

The State Of The Snowpack is an event that is essential for backcountry users, whether they are new to the scene, very experienced and everywhere in between. It is a vital place we can come to learn the many elements of our local backcountry snowpack and be able to have discussions as a community. I look forward to their live events and video updates each winter month!
