Olivia Johnson Avalanche Canada — South Rockies Field Team Lead Originally from Calgary, Olivia has spent the past decade building her career in Fernie, working in ski patrol, avalanche forecasting, and snow safety. Now leading Avalanche Canada’s South Rockies Field Team, she brings deep local knowledge and a strong focus on public education and backcountry risk management. @avcansouthrockies

Mel Makepeace CAA PRO | ACMG Ski Guide Mel is the owner of Mountain Addicts – Guiding and Instruction and has built her guiding expertise throughout the Rockies. Her background includes ski patrol, cat skiing, and guiding management with Last Frontier Heliskiing, alongside ski touring and sailing-based guiding in Norway. Mel is passionate about sharing meaningful mountain experiences and supporting confidence and independence in women in the backcountry. @mountain_addicts

State of the Snowpacks is a Canadian Non-Profit organization, that works to break barriers to backcountry and avalanche information by having avalanche professionals engage with their local backcountry community - providing local avalanche and backcountry conditions. SOTS Chapters and events span from the West Coast to the East Coast of Canada.
