We're Hiring | Marketing & Communications Coordinator (Student Position)

State of the Snowpack (SOTS) is seeking a creative and motivated post-secondary student to join our team as a Marketing & Communications Coordinator for the 2026–27 winter season.

This is an opportunity to take ownership of the marketing and communications for a growing national nonprofit dedicated to avalanche awareness, public education, and safer backcountry communities.

Working closely with our Executive Director and Director of Operations, you'll help develop and execute integrated marketing campaigns that support:

• Free avalanche awareness events across Canada
• Community engagement and storytelling
• Sponsor recognition
• Fundraising initiatives
• Digital advertising
• Our annual Polaris Snowmobile Raffle campaign

You'll gain valuable hands-on experience in:
✔ Marketing strategy
✔ Content creation
✔ Social media management
✔ Meta & Google Ads
✔ Website management (Squarespace)
✔ Email marketing
✔ Marketing analytics
✔ Nonprofit communications

Position Details
• Remote (Canada)
• September–May
• Approximately 15 hours/week
• $22–25/hour (dependent on experience and grant funding)
• Open to eligible post-secondary students through the Venture for Canada Internship Program

State of the Snowpacks is a Canadian Non-Profit organization, that works to break barriers to backcountry and avalanche information by having avalanche professionals engage with their local backcountry community - providing local avalanche and backcountry conditions. SOTS Chapters and events span from the West Coast to the East Coast of Canada.
