Jason “Wishy” Wishlow Senior Avalanche Forecaster & Pro Patroller, Whitewater Mountain Resort

Wishy brings years of experience observing and managing the local snowpack at Whitewater. A longtime SOTS presenter and member of the SOTS Board of Directors, he’s been part of State of the Snowpack since the beginning — sharing avalanche knowledge, resort-assisted backcountry safety insights, and real-world case studies with the community.

Douglas Noblet CAA PRO | Avalanche Forecasting Supervisor, Whitewater Mountain Resort

Douglas has been forecasting at Whitewater for over a decade and also volunteers with Nelson Search and Rescue. His presentation will explore the history of avalanches around Whitewater, offering valuable local context and lessons learned over time.

This free event is open to everyone — skiers, riders, sledders, snowshoers, seasoned locals, and those new to avalanche terrain. Come for the snowpack. Stay for the community.

Community Conversations Saving Lives In The Backcountry. State of the Snowpacks is a Canadian Non-Profit organization, that works to break barriers to backcountry and avalanche information by having avalanche professionals engage with their local backcountry community - providing local avalanche and backcountry conditions. SOTS Chapters and events span from the West Coast to the East Coast of Canada.
