Snowpack Presenter, Jason “Wishy” Wishlow.

Jason is a Forecaster and Pro Patroller with Whitewater Mountain Resort, and he brings years of experience observing and managing the local snowpack. As a Senior Avalanche Forecaster for Whitewater Ski Resort, ‘Wishy’ has been keeping everyone safe on the hill year after year. Jason has been presenting at State of the Snowpack since the beginning - providing avalanche knowledge, resort-assisted backcountry safety, and avalanche incident case studies. He also sits of the Board of Directors, helping bring SOTS to other mountain communities across Canada.

Guest Presenter, Julie-Ann Chapman from She Shreds Mountain Adventures.

Julie-Ann is a CMBGA Level 3 Lead Guide and a CAA Level 2 avalanche professional. She’s a legend in the sled and riding community, and may also be recognized for her snowpack conditions updates. Julie-Ann Chapman created She Shreds Mountain Adventures, being the first all-girls snowmobile clinic in the world, specializing in teaching women by women. Since then She Shreds has branched out to offer services to males as well, from clinics, to avalanche courses and to occupational training. With a strong emphasis on backcountry safety, She Shreds provides one of the best snowmobile adventure learning experiences. With all her spare time, she also volunteers for Search & Rescue AND Nelson Snow-Goers

Community Conversations Saving Lives In The Backcountry. State of the Snowpacks is a Canadian Non-Profit organization, that works to break barriers to backcountry and avalanche information by having avalanche professionals engage with their local backcountry community - providing local avalanche and backcountry conditions. SOTS Chapters and events span from the West Coast to the East Coast of Canada.
