BECOME A CONTRIBUTOR

Help us provide as local-as-it-gets snowpack updates in your mountain town. Our regions cover an enormous amount of variable terrain. The more contributors from each pocket of BC the better we can relay snowpack conditions. As we all know, spacial variability is a key factor in the various snowpack conditions. Let’s grant everyone access to localized snowpack information as an additional tool in the toolbelt of backcontry decision making alongside Avalanche Canada’s Regional Avalanche Forecasts.

REQUIREMENTS

To become a State of the Snowpack Contributor, and key member of your local backcountry community, you must have the following certifications and experiences. This is to ensure consistency when delivering snowpack conditions:

  • Be working professionally in the Avalanche industry (forecaster, AST educator, ski/mountain guide, ski patroller, highways, etc) during the current winter reporting season
